If the story should be told, the concept behind this series came about - like all other good things in life - in a drunken stupor!
But to cut a long anecdote short - here´s the short run-down of the purpose behind this mix series, which was - and still is - as follows:

A. to proliferate the knowledge of predominately unsigned/unreleased artists´ and/or the    contributing labels´ involved tunes
B. to hopefully generate interest for any of the artists and/or labels involved, in general
C. to hopefully get any of the unsigned/unreleased artists signed - and as a result - released
D. to hopefully maybe spur an unsigned/unreleased artist in starting a label on their own
E. to hopefully start various forms of collaborations in between the artists involved

Furthermore, instead of just banging some mix together and uploading it to some server, I also wanted things to be on the up-and-up for all parties involved.

As in asking the artists or labels involved for permission to use their tracks; under the obvious conditions that:

* I wouldn´t be generating any revenue for myself via the mixes
* The artists/labels involved were to be fully credited, and that everything was covered by the   Creative Commons license with some extra stipulations appended to protect the artists´ and/or   labels´ copyrights even further.

If I asked for permission to use a track, and if the artist or label refused or couldn´t be assed to reply (mainly the latter was the norm...!), then things were pretty simple:

"No go? = No show...!".

Well-knowing, I´m probably going to get a lot flak for writing the following, I thought why not (in a VERY SMALL way) try and do a sort of "if-John Peel-went-Techno"-thing, and try and start a mix-series comprising predominately of unsigned artists and/or small (net-)labels and with tracks that could possibly be deemed: "Tomorrow´s anthems? Today!".

That´s what this promo mix series is all about...
